Fall Intimate Backyard Wedding

Fall Wedding photo of bride and groom.

I love all weddings! But this Fall intimate backyard wedding was an extra special one to me. Kayla happens, to be my son’s best friends sister. Plus, I got to photograph her senior photos.

We all know that 2020 has been a crazy one! Especially, for those planning weddings. This year, I have had the pleasure of photographing 200+ people in attendance weddings and the small intimate ones, where there are 20 people. I couldn’t say I favor either one, they are beautifully unique in their own ways. But these intimate ones, there IS something about them.

Simple and Sweet!

Saturday morning started out quietly with Kayla getting ready at her Mom and Dad’s house. Kayla doing her own makeup, because why not! She is amazing at makeup, her sweet friend doing her hair. Brooke, was there doing Cindy and Kristine’s hair. Just a house full of girls, prepping for the big day. I enjoyed getting to photograph details, listening to the chatting and laughter. The morning was so relaxed!

The OARDC was the setting for a few first looks and let me tell you it was perfect. The Daddy and daughter’s first look was up first, I personally couldn’t wait for this one. If you know Ken, he is a rough and tough guy on the exterior but seriously a big teddy bear. So, getting to see him melt a little for his girl, was the sweetest moment.

Charlie was up next for a first look and I have to say, first looks never get old. Watching a couple get to chat and look at every detail of each other. Getting to spend a few moments alone (ish) before they take that walk down the aisle is seriously the best ever. You get to TALK, say the things you want to say without a crowd. My heart!!!! I could never explain these moments to you, but ask a bride and groom who did the first look to see what they say. I promise they will never regret it.

Family met us after all the first looks, we knocked out most the photos, so this couple could enjoy their party after the ceremony was over.

Fall Intimate Backyard Wedding

This wedding was planned for fall since it is Kayla’s favorite season. The intimate ceremony took place in Kayla and Charlie’s backyard of their newly purchased house.

A beautiful wooden backdrop built for them by Kayla’s Dad was the setting where they said their vows. Simple and quiet, laughter, and tears. It was perfect!

After the I-do’s we finished up some family formals quick and headed to the white tent for the reception.

A few champagne toasts, then cutting the cake, followed by a first dance to Ed Sheeran’s song Perfect. The couple changed into comfy clothes to enjoy a delicious meal! Kayla’s Dad Ken, is awesome on the smoker, so he had made the smoked bbq pork, with sides by Kayla’s grandma (you can never go wrong with your grandma’s foods). Along, with some yummy chili made by Charlie’s Mom, Bonnie.

This fall intimate backyard wedding was sweet, with all the special family touches. Kayla and Charlie, I enjoyed spending your day with you! Thank you for allowing me the special privilege. I wish you two alllll the best!!!
