Prom Photos at McKinley Monument | Charlee + Anthony’s Unique Look

senior prom session in Canton, Ohio.

When You Show Up with a Purple Train, You’re Definitely the Main Character ✨

As a Canton Ohio photographer, I’m lucky to meet some seriously amazing clients—and Charlee was no exception. She found me on Google while searching for someone to capture her prom photos, and it just so happened her prom was on a Friday—no other prom sessions were booked! Total win-win!

What I didn’t know at the time was that Charlee models gowns for Henri’s Cloud Nine. So imagine me, driving up to the McKinley Monument in Canton while chatting on the phone with my wedding photographer friend Loren, and I say, “Please tell me the girl in the long purple train on the steps is my client.” Sure enough, I get a text from Charlee: “You can’t miss me, I’m on the steps in the purple dress.” I laughed and told Loren—it was my lucky day.

Why Prom Minis? Because I Love a Good Gown Moment

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is photographing the dress—especially long, flowy trains and anything that twirls. That’s part of what inspired me to start offering Prom Mini Sessions. It’s such a fun way to celebrate style, personality, and one of the last big moments of high school.

Charlee’s gown was next-level. A pastel ombré masterpiece designed by Jonathan Kayne and picked up at Henri’s Cloud Nine. The blue and purple tones were pure magic—especially on those monument steps. Add in a naturally windy day in Ohio = Perfection!

Meet the Couple: Charlee + Anthony

Charlee is a senior at Tuscarawas Valley High School, and her prom date (and boyfriend of three years!) Anthony goes to Fairless. He joined her for her senior prom, and together they nailed their look—effortlessly cool and classic.

Anthony wore a suit from Men’s Wearhouse, perfectly complementing Charlee’s dreamy pastel dress. They looked amazing, but more importantly, they felt like themselves. You could see it in every photo.

Fun fact: Charlee and Anthony met through mutual friends and have been inseparable for three years. Their connection shows, and it made this session even sweeter.

A Prom Look That Was Unapologetically “Her”

When I asked Charlee to describe her prom vibe, she said it was unique.
YES. That’s exactly the energy I love to photograph. Bold, confident, and true to her.

From the dress to the location to her reasons for booking professional photos (spoiler: “I wanted nice photos from my last prom!”), She knew this moment mattered. And I couldn’t agree more.

Can We Talk About Future Queen Vibes? 👑

While this session was all about prom, Charlee has the poise and polish of someone with big dreams—and guess what? She’s running for Miss Dover Ohio USA. (Go girl!!) You can follow her journey over on Instagram at Miss Charlee Huntsman. You can also follow her over on her Tik Tok for lot’s of GRWM!

Charlee, thank you for letting me be a small part of your story. You and Anthony were such a joy to photograph, and I’m so glad we got to make some magic with that purple train.

Charlee and her pretty Mama

We had some SERIOUS wind to contend with. BUT we did it and LOOK at that dress!

Time for some FUN

We decided to stop fighting the wind and head over to Petitti’s Garden Center as it was our plan B.

Charlee chose a larger package to capture her prom senior spotlight session and I am so glad we did, we still worked fast and were able to get so soooooooo…. many photos!

I loved my time with Charlee, her Mom and Anthony….stay tuned for the next prom session.
