A Joyful Celebration Full of Peace and Personal Touches
Michaela and Luke’s Summer Wedding in Smithville Ohio
It was just the perfect summer day for a wedding—sunny, with a warm breeze and thankfully, no rain. Michaela and Luke’s Summer Wedding in Smithville Ohio felt peaceful from the moment I arrived. As I drove down the long lane to Michaela’s childhood home, I could tell it was going to be a good day.
Why This Summer Wedding in Smithville, Ohio Felt So Special
Inside the house, laughter filled the air. The girls were gathered upstairs in Michaela’s childhood bedroom, making final memories before the ceremony. Meanwhile, I began photographing the lovely details, including rings styled on the piano—fitting, since both Michaela and Luke are passionate about music. Afterward, Michaela and the bridesmaids slipped into their gorgeous dresses. One emotional highlight was the Daddy-Daughter first look—tears flowed freely during this heartfelt moment.
A First Look to Remember
Soon after, we headed to Oak Grove Mennonite Church for the first look. I love this newer tradition; it allows couples to connect and calm nerves before the ceremony. When Michaela tapped Luke on the shoulder, his nervousness melted into joyful tears. They shared laughter, whispered words, and took a moment to just be together. These quiet, private exchanges are often the most memorable.

Throughout the day, there were many more tears—tears of joy, love, and pure gratitude. The presence of the Holy Spirit was evident, and the entire celebration was wrapped in peace and purpose.
