Breitenbach Winery Engagement Session
Earlier this year, Jenna and I met up at Panera, with her Mother and Sister in tow to chat Wedding Photography. In meeting with them, I knew they were a sweet family and Jenna was an ideal JLP Bride. So lucky me, I get to be their chosen photographer.
Breitenbach Winery Engagement Session
So fast forward a few months, in deciding on a location for engagement photos, Jenna had expressed interest in getting engagement photos at Breitenbach Winery in Sugarcreek. I sent over an email to get permission. We were super excited to get the go-ahead! I loved getting to photograph this Breitenbach Winery Engagement Session, the rolling hills, the grapevines, and grapes, ahhh it was beautiful, not to mention the subjects!
This sweet #jlpcouple will be getting married in Berlin at Encore Hall in September. Recently, I got to photograph a wedding there with Loren Jackson Photography (which I love working for her), at this new venue and I can’t wait to get these two in front of my lens on their big day. I am super excited to get be their Wedding Photographer!
How they met
Justin and Jenna met at Notre Dame College, they were both on the swim team, he was a diver and she was a swimmer. At first, they didn’t think of themselves as more than just friends. During her sophomore year and his junior year, Justin invited Jenna over for a movie. Justin had told Jenna that he had gotten her a rose, but gave it to his friend to use for his girlfriend (she loved knowing he thought of others first)! That was the start of many times spent together, talking/texting, taking walks together and trying to mesh their schedules to spend time with one another. Their first official date was during Spring Break to Maggiano’s on May 6, 2012. So sweet!
The Engagement
In her Words:
Let’s take it back 3 years. I was in college and had made Justin these “Coupons” for Valentine’s Day.
Never did I realize he still had them after all this time… Justin lived in Utah for work while I was still in graduate school. He had moved back home shortly before I graduated school. I had been out to Utah twice in the time he lived out there; however, he wanted to take me on a trip after graduation to see some of his favorite places.
We love to hike, so this vacation was devoted towards the outdoors. When we had arrived in Salt Lake City, the first place we went to was Park City, which was a place I had loved since my first time being there. We had gone to some little shops around Park City, and then we decided to go hike.
We started to hike up where the ski slopes were. This was in May, and there was still snow on the mountaintops. We started to hike up this crazy steep hill. The clouds started to get dark, but we wanted to make it to the top. We then realized we weren’t going to make it to the top, so we decided to turn around before the rain started.
There was this one place we had found on our way up that had a beautiful view of the mountains.
I said I wanted to take a picture, and he also took some pictures. The clouds started to roll in, and Justin was putting his camera back into his backpack, at least I thought.
He said, “Do you remember those coupons you made me?” I started laughing and said “Those are long expired!” as I started to walk down the mountain. Justin stated, “Well I would like to cash one in.”
I turned around and he had one in his hand. He handed the coupon to me; it was wrinkled and torn from the years passing. The coupon he handed me was “One Free Wish.” And next thing I knew he was down on his knee asking me to marry him!
I started to cry, and said: “Of course!” Then he put the most perfect ring he could have picked out for me. We took some pictures, and then it started to sprinkle. I panicked and stated, “I’m going to put my ring back in the box so it doesn’t get ruined in the rain.” (haha).
We headed down the mountain back to the car, and we were on our way to together forever!
They knew they were meant to be!
These two knew they were meant to be! They enjoy similar things, their morals line up and they each admire each other in so many ways!
Enjoy this gorgeous Breitenbach Winery Engagement session, oh and we made a few little friends along the way. I can’t wait till September guys!
