Michaela and Luke’s Summer Wedding in Smithville Ohio was just perfect. A beautiful day, a warm breeze and but not to hot. We were all super thankful that we had no rain for this beautiful outdoor reception.
Michaela and Luke planned to get married at a little church called Oak Grove Mennonite near Michaela’s childhood home where the reception was going to be held. When I was pulling down that long lane for Michaela and Luke’s Summer Wedding in Smithville Ohio, I knew it was going to be a good day, it felt peaceful. Upon walking into the house, we were met with the sounds of laughter coming from upstairs. The girls were all hanging out in Michaela’s childhood bedroom. Sisters and friends making a last time memory. After photographing details, Michaela and the girls got into their gorgeous dresses! You might notice the rings were photographed on the piano, these two both are huge lovers of music. Followed by a Daddy-Daughter first look, with lots of tears. Michaela and I headed out to meet her Groom who was anxiously waiting for their first look.
Their First Look, a sweet, sweet moment
The new era tradition, that I LOVE. When Michaela and I arrived at the church where they had planned their first look to happen, I went straight to Luke who was so nervous to see his beautiful bride, motioning Michaela to come her smile was so big as she walked towards Luke, who was turned away (on purpose). After tapping Luke on the shoulder, the nerves melting away, their tears of joy and the laughter that still rings in my ears as I type the words. The words shared between them, a moment between just the two of them, to say the things that they are thinking, without having to hold back in front of a crowd. It gives me chills, each and every time I photograph a first look, they never regret it. This was a special moment, you can see the sheer LOVE and joy they have!

We headed over to a place called The Happy Frog for some gorgeous rustic photos before the I do’s!
Many more tears followed throughout the whole day, tears of joy and love. It was such a heartfelt day, with lots of tender moments and prayers. The Holy Spirit was felt all day, what a joyful and peaceful wedding day.
Michaela and Luke, thank you so much for allowing me to be your photographer!
